Signing of Transitional Constitution by political and civil leaders

The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) achieved a critical milestone in its peace-building journey with the formal signing of the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of Sudan (2025). Political leaders, armed movements, professional unions, and civil society representatives came together in Nairobi to endorse the document, which now serves as the governing framework for Sudan’s transitional period.

The Transitional Constitution outlines a new political architecture for Sudan, emphasizing civilian rule, federal governance, and the protection of human rights and freedoms.

By signing this constitution, Sudanese leaders signaled a unified commitment to peace and democracy. The document also provides legal grounding for the establishment of the Government of Peace and Unity, which TASIS pledged to announce in the coming weeks.

Regional analysts hailed the signing as a “turning point for Sudan’s future,” noting that it represents the most comprehensive attempt yet to resolve the structural causes of Sudan’s recurring conflicts.
