The Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasis) is a coalition of Sudanese political factions, armed movements, professionals, trade unions and civil society organizations, united by a shared and unwavering commitment to achieving lasting peace, establishing democratic governance, and building genuine unity across Sudan.
Formed in February 2025, amidst the urgent need for a transformative solution to Sudan’s protracted crisis, Tasis aims to establish a legitimate Government of Peace and Unity. This government is designed to administer territories under our control and to serve as the foundation for a new, inclusive Sudan – a secular, democratic, and decentralized state, where freedom, equality, dignity, security, and stability prevail for all its citizens, without bias towards any cultural, ethnic, religious, or regional identity.
To transform Sudan into a new, secular, democratic, and decentralized state. This vision is founded on the principles of freedom, justice, and equality, ensuring no single identity holds an advantage over others. We seek a unified Sudan with greater autonomy for its diverse regions.
To guide Sudan from protracted conflict to a secure, civilian-led government. We aim to protect civilians, provide humanitarian aid, and lay the groundwork for a new, professional national army accountable to the people.
The Sudan Founding Alliance is built upon a firm structure of five core values that underpin our constitutional commitments and guide our governance framework. These values ensure that our institutions operate with integrity, accountability, and an unwavering focus on national welfare.
Acknowledging and respecting the principle of opinion and embracing diverse ideas are foundational to institutional creativity and excellence. Our commitment to the nation is mandated by the 2025 Constitution, which guarantees public freedoms, the right to free expression, and the absolute non-violation of human rights for all citizens.
Tasis is committed to respecting core values, managing diversity, and expanding participation to secure equality and the rule of law. Our national purpose is to ensure equality and fairness without discrimination in rights and duties.
Our governance framework demands the credible sharing of information and the committed monitoring of corporate standards. This institutional pledge translates nationally into rigorously setting, measuring, and accounting for performance against our established vision to achieve demonstrable results for the people of Sudan.
We are committed to organizing and completing every institutional task efficiently and with consistent loyalty. To uphold this value nationally, we ensure that positions of high responsibility across all sectors are filled by individuals with the highest qualifications, abilities, and experience.
The Alliance fosters an institutional environment that encourages collective and individual work toward ambitious goals. TASIS inspires individuals and groups alike to pursue meaningful goals with optimism and determination, contributing to a peaceful, prosperous, and unified Sudan.
Key priorities outlined by the Tasis leadership include:
TASIS is committed to bringing an end to the ongoing conflict by addressing its historical root causes, with the singular aim of making the current war the last in Sudan’s history.
TASIS emphasizes that civilian protection is not optional but a moral, legal obligation, strictly adhering to international humanitarian law.
Consolidating allied forces under a unified command while advancing institutional governance, laying the groundwork for a truly national, professional army reflecting Sudan’s diversity.
Promoting a federal and inclusive political model responsive to the diverse needs of Sudan’s regions, ensuring equitable power and resource sharing.
Engaging with local and international stakeholders in support of a peaceful transition, fostering partnerships for stability and development.
Ensuring security and stability in all territories under the alliance’s administration, prioritizing civilian protection and the return of displaced persons.
With this new command structure and clear objectives, the Tasis Alliance positions itself as a cohesive and strategic actor in Sudan’s evolving landscape — one committed to charting a new course toward peace, unity, and inclusive national leadership.
The Sudan Founding Alliance emerged from a series of profound national dialogues and agreements. Recognizing the persistent failures of previous approaches to address Sudan’s fundamental challenges – including national identity, the relationship between religion and state, and severe developmental imbalances – Tasis was formally established in Nairobi, Kenya, in February 2025.
The alliance was solidified through the signing of the Sudan Founding Charter and the adoption of the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of Sudan (2025). These landmark documents represent a historic consensus, defining a clear path for Sudan’s transition from conflict to peace and from military rule to democratic governance. On April 15, 2025, the establishment of the Government of Peace and Unity was officially announced, marking a pivotal moment in our journey towards a new Sudan.
“This is not another short-term alliance… TASIS is a foundational platform. We are here to dismantle the old Sudan, not manage it.” – AlaaeEldin Awad Nogoud, Official Spokesperson
